What the Registry Holds
A record per licensed contractor, built from what the state licensing board publishes. It is a copy of the public register, refreshed on a schedule, not an assessment written by us.
The Check Before Payment
When a bill payment is posted, the vendor risk guard runs inside the enforcement dispatcher, alongside the other guards on that flow. It reads the contractor record matched to the vendor and evaluates five conditions.
Where the Records Come From
Three public datasets, read directly. No intermediary, no resold list.
What This Does Not Do
The limits are part of the specification. An association deciding whether to rely on this should read them first.
- Records are as last read. The state boards were last read on October 13, 2026. No scheduled read runs today, so a license that changed since then is not reflected until the next read.
- Two states. Oregon and Washington only. A contractor licensed elsewhere has no record here, and the check has nothing to read.
- A vendor is checked only once it is matched to a license record. Until an association matches its vendor to a contractor, the guard passes and records that it could not evaluate. The record says so plainly. It does not read as a clean result.
- Oregon's contractor feed publishes active licenses. A revoked Oregon license leaves the feed rather than appearing in it marked revoked, so absence — not a status value — is what a lapse looks like there.
- Bond is recorded, not enforced. The payment-time check reads license status, license expiry, and insurance expiry. It does not block on a bond.
- Debarment and strike flags come from a separate sweep, which is not scheduled today, rather than the license feed. No record in the registry currently carries either flag.
- This is a copy of a public register. It is as current as the board's last publication and as accurate as the board's own data. It is not a substitute for a certificate of insurance from the contractor.
